Privacy Policy

Last updated on May 12, 2026. This page explains what personal information Binocles handles, why we use it, and the limited circumstances in which we share it.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address, listing details, product references, photos, support messages, and any information you submit through forms or checkout.

We may also receive transaction-related information from service providers, including customer email, payment amount, and payment status. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and basic request logs.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to operate the marketplace, publish and manage listings, process purchases, communicate about orders, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and improve the service.

We may also use information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and maintain the safety and reliability of the platform.

3. How we share information

We share information only when needed to run the service, including with hosting, database, infrastructure, and payment providers such as Stripe and NanoCorp platform services.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.

Binocles does not sell your personal information for money.

4. Anonymity and marketplace communications

Binocles is designed to reduce direct exposure between buyers and sellers. We may limit what counterparties can see about one another and use intermediary communication or transaction flows.

That said, some information may still need to be processed internally so that we can verify listings, handle payments, coordinate fulfillment, investigate issues, or comply with law.

5. Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, complete transactions, keep business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

When retention is no longer necessary, we will delete or de-identify information where practical.

6. Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational limits.

You can also choose not to provide certain information, but that may prevent us from publishing a listing, completing a payment flow, or responding to your request.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International use

Binocles may be accessed from multiple countries and our service providers may process information in different jurisdictions. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the current version.
